ACF Kart Racing Event - January 24, 2015 - 11am - F1Boston Braintree, MA

The snow hasn't even fallen in anger yet, and I'm already missing the race track. So let's plan to meet up at F1 Boston for kart racing!! I'm looking at 11am on Jan 24, 2015 (Saturday). Unless you are a skier, you'll just be sitting home freezing so come have some fun! I am a skier and I'm still going to love doing this. The track is located at 290 Wood Rd Braintree, MA 02184.

Racers need to have a valid driver's license. I'm hoping we can do a "mini Grand Prix" style event which is a warmup then 3 races to set the grid, then a final race to determine the winners. The cost will be $75 per racer and maybe another $10 for a day license unless you already have an annual license or competition license from F1 Boston

They provide the helmets and race suits so you just show up with pants and sneakers and you're all set to race.

Kids, unfortunately, can't race here unless they are in a league. So bring them to watch if you'd like, but set expectations accordingly. There is a very safe area for spectators very far from exits so leaving 7yo+ kids watching while you race is doable, if you're comfortable and your kid is compliant.

I'm trying to gauge interest via the form below so please sign up and hopefully we can get a good turnout. We need 10-12 to do 1/2 hour of reserved racing. Double that number and we can do an hour. The time may need to shift a bit depending on whether we have the numbers to reserve the track and if we can reserve it in time to secure this spot.
If we get a good turnout for this event and we all love karting (yes!!!), we can also look to have an event at On Track Karting in Wallingford, CT where the kids (7+) can race!! They run kid races and then adult races in alternation all day every day. The format is different (best lap time wins, not first place) and the karts are different (you are strapped in with a roll cage) and the atmosphere is different (no penalties and often more rubbing-is-racing events).

So please sign up, tell your friends, and help us enjoy some winter racing not far away at F1 Boston. We'll be advertising through the school too so you may see some signs around.

I am definitely up for this. Karting is a lot of fun and low key. F1 is closer but stricter on the penalties. Count me in; where is the form?
